Kemin spotlights new FloraGLO and OPTISHARP lutein and zeaxanthin study results at SupplySide West

Kemin Industries is currently exhibiting at this year's nutraceutical, dietary supplement and functional food-focused event, SupplySide West.

At the event, Kemin is showcasing its ingredient solutions that are designed to support key health areas, including gut health and digestion, women's health and children's health.

As well as exhibiting its product range, Kemin is sharing details on its most recent trial, which evaluated the safety and efficacy of FloraGLO Lutein and OPTISHARP Natural Zeaxanthin in both mothers and infants.

This clinical trial was the first NIH-funded study to look into lutein and zeaxanthin supplementation for both maternal and infant health.

Published in Opthalmology Science in September 2024, findings revealed a significant increase in carotenoid levels from supplementation in both mothers and their newborns.1

This suggests that the nutraceutical combination could significantly benefit the eye health of both mothers and infants — bolstering its position as a prenatal supplement.

As well as being effective in mother and baby, FloraGLO has been proven to benefit the eye health of teens in a recent study.

Experts at Kemin's stand are on hand to discuss the topline results of the study.

During the trial, researchers looked at the effect of supplementation with 5mg of lutein in a sugar-free gummy format.
